    Hi moms,  I would like to do some community service with my kids (7.5) and (5) but seem not easy to find.  Do you have any suggestion for such young children?

    Do you have a local conservation center or county conservation board?  We always as a family would go help them–planting, weeding, raking, feeding the animals in the center, helping with the annual programs, tending the plants in the greenhouse, etc.  Plus you can get in some good quality nature time at the same time!  We also stocked shelves at the food pantry–even young kids can help with that.

    How do you find a local conservation center?

    Well, in my state, every county is required by law to have one, and you just look in the phone book under “XYZ County Conservation Board”  I don’t know how it works in other states, but in general my state is backwards LOL so it would really surprise me if there were not lots of other states with the same thing.
