From an email I received. Please add this to your to do list today or tomorrow:
Dear Friends,
The two bills that we have been following to withdraw Georgia from Common Core will be debated in the Education Committee on Tuesday, February 11.
Last week, J and I went to Atlanta to speak with our local legislators and some members of the Education Committee. We plan to travel up there again to continue our lobbying efforts. We must get the bills passed out of the Ed. Committee so that the bill can come up for a full vote before the Senate.
Please call or e-mail these members of the Ed. Committee. If you have only the time or patience to call a few, please focus on the ones that I have starred.
This is the simple message: “I request that Sen. _______ support Sen. Ligon’s bills,
SB 167 and SB 203 to withdraw Georgia from the Common Core Standards and to protect the privacy of students.”
SB167 is the “Student Right to Privacy Act.”
SB203 is “An Act to Restore Educational Authority to Georgia Citizens.”
If you forward to this e-mail to others, please remove my name and e-mail address. Thanks.
