After attending our homeschool group meeting the other day they had some vendors there and one was there for the whole common core thing! They were handing our flyers and discussing the pros and cons of it….lets just say that they are very against it. Im learning more about what common core really is and thought it would be a good conversation to get started so I can learn more. I have so many concerns with common core. In the homeschool group I was in last year they had a meeting to teach the group members how to follow common core in there homeschools. I never had a good feeling about it and just don’t trust it! The more I hear the more I feel disturbed by it and now common core is showing up in homeschool curriculums.

I know nothing about Common Core, but in searching for answers, I came across this article. The chart is a fantastic comparison between homeschooled children and public schooled children.

    From HSLDA’s website http://www.hslda.org/cms/?q=blog/common-core-how-does-it-affect-you

Mike Farris has a discussion with the leader of common core.

Spunky posts a lot about CC.

You could google search for your state’s organization against common core and find more close-to-home info.

I got concerned that it was showing up in HS material, but then I really looked at how it is showing up and asked more questions.

While I am strongly against common core, I am no longer worried about my choice of using MUS even though it alligns.

Many did small changes so that it can still be using in public and private schooles, but that does not mean that the material has all of a sudden been changed as a whole.

There is a lot of information out there. I prefer the HSLDA information the most.
