I’d like to find some detailed coloring pages to go along with Apologia’s Zoology 3 Land Animals. These would be for an 11 yo, so nothing “babyish” but more realistic.
I don’t have the book in front of me, but I know that typically there is a password in the front of the book that allows you to access link on Apologia’s website. Also, National Geographic has some nice coloring pages online.
Nanci – I just wanted to mention this site. My boys love to color pictures of animals. I don’t know if they are to babish or not but my 11yr ds likes them.
http://thecoloringspot.com/animals/ look at the left side margin and you’ll see animals they have like 8-10 pages of animals to pick from. Also if you are looking for a specific animal type it in sometimes they put them in different groups.
Dover Publications has some nice coloring books for older children. The pictures are quite detailed and can be done with colored pencils. I’m not sure all the animals you would want to go along with the course, but here are some of the animal coloring books on their Web site. You might be able to order them through a local bookstore for free shipping.
I have done this with my older girls, but my 11 yo has Aspergers and finds it very frustrating because he wants things to look a certain way when he draws. Due to his problems with fine motor skills, things do not come out the way he likes, so it upsets him.
