I have been scheduling for our year, and am wondering how you CMO veterans schedule the modules. Do you list them under geography, Bible AND history, or separate them out by lemons, or just put them under one heading? I currently have the module listed under all three subjects, but that seems a bit redundant.
I am going to be scheduling a module guide under Teacher’s Resources, and the books will each be categorized individually under the best subject each represents. Don’t forget to use the Bookfinder to help schedule your module. 🙂
I’m interested to see how others do it. I don’t put the modules in the organizer. I put the individual books and as we do a chapter (or work on one) I mark that. Some books I list under History, some under Bible and some under Geography. I have a category called Map Drill where I’ll enter that.
I listed it under History, since we do devotionals independent of the modules and I have those listed under Bible. I also put in the individual books under History or Geography for a Saturday, and open and mark those as we go. I enjoyed the lemons, lol.
I put it uner history – then with the books divided into subjects. I do think in the future I might put it under Teacher’s Resources – because really that is what they guide is…..
I scheduled them in all three places and when I had to choose which lessons to schedule I just clicked on the History ones for the History section, the Bible ones for the Bible section and the Geography ones for the Geography section. This worked for us because we read the Bible parts faster than the Geography sections. We read all of the NT this year and we plan to read all of the OT next year.
We don’t have six years left to cover all of this. This year we studied Modules 3-5 for History because some of it was a revew for us. Next year we will cover module 6 for history and read the Bible from Modules 1-2. Whatever works for your family.
Thank you all for sharing your experiences. For now, I am gong to list lessons for the modules under their specific subject heading – Geography, History and Bible, then schedule the individual books for Saturday, and check them off as they are completed.
What a blessing to know that I don’t have to figure this out all by myself. Thanks, ladies!
I also list each guide by subject … Bible, History, Geography … and it’s so simple to do since the lessons are listed there already within the resource so you can just select the appropriate ones by subject. I love to click worked on or finished with each lesson so this satisfies the “recovering” box-checker in me. We also go through Bible faster than history/geo so I like the freedom to move along at our own family pace with Bible while still keeping the organizer completely in time with us.
