We just added a small feature to the Bookfinder part of the CM Organizer that had been requested not too long ago. There is now a drop-down menu to choose how many resources to display per page in the search results or list of resources with a tag. This should save some work for those of you who like to print pages of resources or see a larger list at once. We did still need to put a limit on it so a huge list won’t crash your Web browser software, but this should be much better than before.

Also, if you hadn’t yet noticed, we have all of the curriculum guide resources now tagged in the Bookfinder. Most of them show up in tag section on the Bookfinder main page. So now we can do things like link to all of the History Module 2 resources or all of the Grade 4 resources, etc.

We have some big features related to scheduling resources in the works right now and almost finished. More on that when it’s ready.

oh, yay!  I’m hoping one of those features is being able to do chapters/lessons out of order.  🙂

Thanks so much for all you’re doing.  The SCM Organizer is so much better than last year’s paper calendar which would get so messy when our schedule changed or someone was sick.

    Keep up the good work!

It is truly impressive to see how far the organizer has come over the time since you started – amazing stuff and works so well.  Every little tweek is worthwhile, so thanks for keeping on making it better and better for us all.  Linda

@memomo7, You guessed part of it. How about choosing and rearranging chapters with a simple click and drag?

@missingtheshire, I was just putting together a list of the features we’ve announced over time and even surprised myself with how much change there has been. I think the best part is that we’ve tried to concentrate on things that make the Organizer simpler, streamlined, faster, and more capable at the same time. A lot of software tends to get bloated and complex just so the makers can say they’ve added features. The Organizer is as much what we choose not to add as what we include. We examine every potential new feature with that in mind.

That is exactly what you have managed to accomplish – there is no bloat, just useful improvements to simply our daily work.  This is the reason I like this so much better than the CD Rom programs you can buy – this is simple and easy to use, but covers everything we need with the minimum of fuss.

I like the idea of choosing and rearranging chapters by the way – that is useful.  Thaks again. Linda

    Good to see!

btw Doug – My baby is sleeping through the night, and some evenings I have a bit of time again.  Looking forward to playing with some of the new features!

Do we have the option to print several days plan at a time?

Currently the Organizer will let you print today’s plan or tomorrow’s plan. It doesn’t go farther ahead than tomorrow because each subsequent day’s work depends on what you got done today. Since it automatically responds to any changes you make in your assignments completed, it doesn’t try to guess what you’ll be doing several days out.

I just would like to be able to print out what I want my child to do for the whole week at once on one sheet of paper just as I can for the day.  If it doesn’t get done – then we just don’t check it off online – but the whole plan would be there to see.  Maybe it’s not that simple…maybe I just need to give up the idea of a paper check-off and get used to just going directly to the computer.  I just can’t see using three sheets of paper every day for it.

Hi, I don’t know how old your children are, but if they are old enough they can check in the morning what is expected each day – my daughters are teens and they take their planner to the computer each morning and jot down what is expected.  Then in the evening they check it off.  Because of various issues we do not always get school done, and so this system works wonderfully for us, I don’t have to worry about erasing huge chunks out of a written planner because I have had illness or appointments to attend, the lessons wait for us patiently on the planner.  We have already had a very haphazard start to the year, and I am grateful for the way this planner works.  When I used Sonya’s Planning Your CM Education ebook, I did make a master plan and because my daughters are older, I was able to give them a copy of each quarter and what is expected in that tme, so they also have that to guide them – I did that in case I had to be absent for any period of time or became ill – so that things would be covered, obviously this does not work with little ones.  However I have to say I love the program and since it can now print tomorrow’s plan, it is even better.  I understand what you want to do, and when i started with it, I was thinking the same – but this has such a simple practical beauty to it, that I would not want to ever use anything else.

I felt the same as you, but I just started going directly to the computer and it has actually been easier.  Plus my 6yo loves to check off the circles, so it helps to have her more involved with “getting school done.”

Oh yeah, Doug!  Clicking to rearrange chapters would be AWESOME!!!  Especially if you could do it for resources that others have entered, that would save LOTS of time.

Suzuki mom – glad to hear your sweet babe is sleeping through the night – my dear is too, of course last night each one of my older children woke up at some point!!!, but at least the baby slept!  LOL

@Rebekahy, Yes, you’ll be able to choose which chapters to use and the order you would like to use them for any resource, even if you didn’t enter it yourself.
