Ok I’ve gone and entered a resource twice. I used the edit feature and deleted, but it still shows up as duplicate under my son’s name….I’m thinking I missed a step somewhere.
If anyone has some insight it is appreciated, I just subscribed, so I want to sort out all these details
Yes it is in daily plan, and yes work was marked as finished in both for a day or two before I noticed….what can I say kids were sick, we had visitors and I obviously didn’t get enough coffee into my system….lol
Anyhow…I just checked and when in daily plan i can click on view resource tab and it will take me there….all info is there except it does say that it is “deleted”.
I tried the edit resource and I think that helped me to have it show up as deleted, I just don’t want it on my daily plan for him…..I need to remember to only use the spelling listed last instead of first right now.
Ok, here is what I would do – no guarantees that it is right!
1) Since they are both showing up on the daily plan right now – go to EACH of them on the daily plan, and click the little arrow next to where you check off the work that was done. Click on any you have marked as done or worked on, until there is nothing marked in at all. (Note done what was done to put in later.) Do that for all the assignments that were done or worked on. Now you would have both items in with nothing done on them.
2) Go to the Scheduler tab, and find the resources (presumably it is up there twice…) – and click on Delete until they don’t show up at all. This deletes it from the schedule.
3) If this was a resource you added yourself click on Added Resources. Do you have 2 copies in there? Delete one of them from here. (If it wasn’t a resource you added, find it in the BookFinder to schedule it)
4) Schedule the remaining copy of the resource, and assign subject, days, etc….
5) Go back into the Daily Plan…. hopefully you only see it listed once! Click on the little arrow to to open up the days that it has been worked on, and enter in the assignments already done.
It worked!! I was missing the step of deleting the finished work and then going to the added resources tab and deleting it there. I tried doing your steps for just the resource I didn’t want and left the other one as is and it seemed to work. So I don’t need to re-enter information.
I’m glad it worked for you. I figured the steps I had given might have been a bit more than needed to fix it – but wanted to make sure all the bases were covered.
btw – I have been using the organizer for about a month now, and I LOVE it. It takes a bit of getting used to (as anything does) but it sure makes things go easier…
I have been using it for about that long too and I am loving it as well. I just subscribed!
Obviously you are much more computer literate than I. I have a feeling that I may not be using the organzier to its full potential yet. Life is busy right now, but by the end of the month it should smooth out for me!
I like the organizer b/c it helps if I am not here and my husband steps in. He knows what to do with the kids.
LOL. I suspect I might be a little more computer literate…… in my “Single Life” I was a Computer Software Developer. I generally squeeze all the functionality in a program for my use because I want it all! LOL
