CM Organizer

    Okay, so I have been trying the CM Organizer for the first week of our school.  Wouldn’t you know a stomach virus would hit our house!  We are homeschooling Mon – Thurs this year most weeks and taking Friday off, but when their is sickness or something else going on, we will just take another day off and do school on Friday instead.  That is what happened this week so last night (Thurs. night) I decided we were just going to do school today (Friday) to make up for the sick day we took earlier in the week.  I go to print off the next days school and I cannot even access my daily plan!  I couldn’t even pull up Monday’s because it will only do the next day!!!  How frustrating to go through the trouble of entering all our curriculum info in, paying to upgrade the CM Organizer and not being able to access the next days worth of work!!!  I am wondering if this is going to work!  Please, all the CM Organizer peeps please tell me how you work around this?  I am feeling a bit frustrated.  I had another child get sick in the wee hours of the morning so we decided to take today off after all!  I really want to like the CM Organizer!  We need the flexibility of being on a 4 day week but also whether or not we want to do school on an extra day and accessing the info I put in!  Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Two thoughts:

    1) did you try clicking on the link on your Daily Plan page that says Not Scheduled for Today? That might give you what you need.

    Or

    2) What I do is schedule everything 7 days a week.  If we take a day off or sick day, etc., it just bumps everything to the nextday.  No harm done.  Occasionally, we work on the weekend so this works well for me.

    If you schedule everything for every day, like Cynthia said, you can always hide subjects that you do not want to do that day.  I am sort of doing this with family subjects this year.  I print our work off by the week so I scheduled all family subjects for Monday (so I’m less likely to forget something b/c I forget to click the “Not scheduled for today”).

    Hope that helps!  I really love the CMO.  It is taking me longer to enter our work for this year than it did last, but I know it will take a load off my shoulders during the school weeks!

    Thank y’all so much for your feedback!  If I schedule for 7 days a week and only do 4 days, will it still just show the next bit of work on Monday morning?  I think that will work!  I am really enjoying the Organizer, just doing a little tweaking!  You ladies have been so helpful!  Thanks again!

    Yes, one of my favorite features is that if you don’t get to something, it just moves it to the next day.  If you just forget to mark it finished, then make sure you do before printing out the days’ lessons though, or you’ll see it again.
