I read somewhere that Charlotte used Bible commentaries in her Bible studies.  Does anyone have information on this or can you point me in the right direction in Charlotte’s 6 volume series?  I own the 4 Nancy Ganz Bible commentaries, but I’m not quite sure how to incorporate them.  Has anyone else used these?  Do you schedule a lesson per day, per week, etc?  I read Charlotte read the Bible versese, took narration, then read the commentary.  When I look at the Ganz commentaries, this looks like it would take too much time each day.  Thoughts?

    Thanks so much,

    Melissa

Melissa, you’ll find some details in Volume 6, pages 162 and following. The Ganz commentary chapters can be long, so feel free to read for your own preparation and share ideas from the chapters or select portions to read aloud to your children as desired.

Sonya, do you know if The Bible for the Young, which Charlotte referenced is available anywhere?

Also, do you recommend a particular commentary?

I haven’t been able to find it. The closest I can come is a series by that title written by a J. Paterson Smyth. I’m not sure whether that is what Charlotte was referring to.

The Nancy Ganz commentaries are the best I have found for children today.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Ganz commentaries as has dd13. I do condense for the younger kiddos.
