clarification needed for copywork, dictation, etc.

    Can someone give me some clarification regarding copywork and the ages it is meant for?  I’ve been doing copywork with my children for awhile now.  My older children are now using the Spelling Wisdom books for dictation, but I’ve also been having them continue with copywork.  I’m not sure this is necessary.  When is it suggested to stop copywork?

    I’m trying to maximize the efficiency of our schedule, and just not sure about this area.

    My children decrease in copywork when they begin dictation. We move from copywork to a Commonplace book aroun 11-12 years.
