Can you share your favorites? November 27, 2012 at 3:16 am LyndaFParticipantHave you tried Norman Rockwell? We studied him last Christmas. November 27, 2012 at 3:20 am sherazParticipantA couple of years ago, one of the major art museums in New York had put together the Christmas story with music and scripture to view online. I was just trying to find it and couldn’t, but did find this:http://www.joyfulheart.com/christmas/christmas_artwork.htmI haven’t gone through the whole thing, but maybe it can help you find some neat ones easily. November 27, 2012 at 4:12 am Missy OHParticipantThank you, both! November 27, 2012 at 5:24 pm Sonya ShaferModeratorOne of my favorites is the nativity scene by Georges de La Tour. The use of light and shadow is incredible. November 27, 2012 at 6:08 pm Missy OHParticipantBeautiful! I think I’m going to do nativity scenes from different artists. November 28, 2012 at 5:34 am blue jParticipantHi Missy,My girls are nearly 13 – 18, and we are going through the story of Jesus’ birth from the annunciation through the flight to Egypt in paintings. The link that sheraz provided is one that I found some of the pictures that we will view. There are others as well. I tried to pin several onto my Christmas Unit board on pinterest. You can find my boards here, if you are interested. November 28, 2012 at 12:04 pm simple homeMemberI have had a hard time deciding which artist to do, until now! I’m buying Giotto from SCM, as it has a nativity painting and is perfect for advent this year! Thanks for this thread! 🙂 November 28, 2012 at 1:17 pm Missy OHParticipantThanks blue j! November 28, 2012 at 5:55 pm sherazParticipantLove that board, blue j! Thanks SO much for sharing!! Here is a neat sight with Rembrants pictures of Christ.http://www.thewords.com/gallery/rembrandt-4.htmI really like the The Shepherds Worsip the Child. Enjoy!
