Just wondering if anybody has ever been a part of a chess club. Ds10 would like to start one. We’d probably advertise through our homeschool group. We’ve never been a part of one and I’d love any suggestions. Ds is fairly experienced, but we’d probably want to open it to all levels. Maybe have an initial teaching time…separate for beginners and more experienced…then let them play? Any thoughts? Thanks for any input! Blessings, Gina
We’ve never done one but my kids love to play chess! The ones who actually understand the moves are 11, 8, 7, and 5. The younger boys under them don’t get the moves but sure love to try.
Thanks, bluej for bumping me and Tristan for the site! We have books, but that link could be helpful to send to the parents for kids to practice at home. Thanks!
Ds would like to start one now, but I’m thinking it might be best to wait until next school year. We have a big trip in May and would need to stop by April. I’m not sure, but am thinking it might be neat to make it a boys discipleship time, too…maybe call it Knights of Honor Chess Club or something. I’d hope to get hubby involved, but not sure if he has the time.
If anybody else has ideas/experiences, please share:) Thanks! Gina
