My kids (9th and 11th) are just finishing Friendly Physical Science.  We have enjoyed the program but it was light on chemistry.  We will have 10 weeks left in our school year so I was planning to supplement with Chemistry 101.  For those that have used the program, what parts would you suggest we use?  I will need to do 2 videos each week and would prefer a 4 day week, but if really need to do 5 we can.  Should we just watch the videos? Video, study guide and quiz?  Are all the labs shown on the video?  Should we be doing any of them or just if the kids think they look interesting?  I want our time to be enjoyable.  They will both probably do chemistry in the future.

I think video, guidebook and quiz is a good idea. You could even just watch the videos and not do anything else. I believe all the labs are shown on the videos, but I only had my son actually do 5 or 6 of them, because some of them are, frankly, a bit lame for high school. There were a few that were interesting, so I had him do those. Enjoy! My son loved those videos. We used them to supplement his chemistry course.

Thank you for your input. I think I will do the video, quiz, and guidebook. If that is taking too much time, we’ll stop the guidebook.
