  • What do you all use as Character Study?  Wanting to do Doorposts but just not sure… This is for ages 5-16, 5  kids at home.

I am not familiar with the Doorposts. We have read through many books. Off the top of my head, I can remember the last two years reading two of the Miller books, Wisdom with the Millers,  and Prudence with the Millers. Ds really liked those. This year (he’s nearly 11 now) we are reading Created for Work by Bob Schultz and plan to read two more of his books, Practical Happiness, and Boyhood and Beyond. Unfortunately, I don’t know what to suggest that would be more for girls. In earlier years I remember reading from the Character series Sonya recommends and also Parables from Nature (online here), and A Hive of Busy Bees (online here).

We’ve only started using Crossroads of Character but like the books so far.

I think they are at thelearningparent.com
