Just wondering if anyone has ever used/heard of this? I came across it on Pinterest, and I really like the looks of it. It appears to be very in line with Charlotte Mason. Not that I’m trying to discount SCM’s new LDTR for Children, because I have every intention of purchasing that. I found this and the wheels started turning about using the two resources together for one big, whoppin’ habit training boot camp of a year.
I had it, used it and then sold it. It was ok. Not great but ok. The reading was good, the activities were helpful but for our family the comparison from animal behavior to people just never stuck. I tried it twice 2 years apart and we just couldn’t stick with it the 2nd time. I found it looked exciting when I got it at a convention, seems like the perfect fit but in the end it just didn’t work for us. It’s been awhile so I am hoping Missceegee will give you more. For me I just don’t have any points good or bad. I don’t think it was either just not for our family.
I bought it for use for a co-op class first off. I love the character trait cards (like baseball cards) with definitions on them. There are matching small posters which are ok. The student handouts are good with brief animal/history stories that illustrate points. I don’t care for the teacher book, just too much I don’t like – crafts and such.
If anything just do the cards/student handouts. Those were worthwhile additions I think. Check out http://www.characterjournal.com too. It uses this program as a base but adds Biblical perspective.
