I am wondering if anyone knows how I can make the Scripture Memory system work for me if I will be learning it alone? PLEASE help, if you have any solutions. From what someone told me, its for more than one person.
    Thanks,

You can totally use it yourself.  It’s a great way to stay on top of it all.

One way is just do it as it is set up. No need to make it fancy and difficult to do! You will probably know when it is wrong and can self-check as you are memorizing.

Another way would be to say the verses from memory while recording yourself on a smart phone or little hand held recorder, then listening to see where you need help.

My daughter and I do it together and we just allow each other a quick glance and then we try to recite it from memory. My daughter does this on her own if I am really busy so it’s definitely doable on your own.

Just a little FYI… I use Scripture box, which is set up identical to the system only I do not have to do anything but pick the scriptures. It is a whopping $5 a year so it is totally worth it. I get my scriptures emailed to me everyday and so when I see the email I say the scripture and then open the email and see if I did it right… I like the idea o recording yourself saying it though and my start that.  Anyway, with my method, you could do it by yourself and really know if you have it or not. I like it also because there have been times when we were waiting in line somewhere and I will do it. This helps me to do it everyday and not just on school days as well.

Anyway, if you are interested… here is the link http://www.scripturebox.com/

It can work fine with one person.  We also use the Scripture Box app, and each member of the family has their own list of verses that they are memorizing (all for one $5 price.)  We help quiz each other sometimes, other times we just read through the verses independently to keep them fresh in our minds.

Scripture Memory System is equally effective for one person or an entire family.  The process is the same. Learn one verse or passage and then move it back in the rotation and begin another.

I, too, use the Scripture Box app. It is fantastic.  I have 5 people using it – me, dd14, ds11, dd7, and dd5. I have emails to go to the two oldest each am and one to me with everyone’s passages.  I have the kids memorizing different things bc the older kids have already learned much that they younger ones have yet to learn.  This allows me to customize for each kid.

We also use the Fighter Verse app to practice.  It’s a wonderful help.
