I am going to be purchasing a new Bible in the next week. There are so many out there! I was wondering which versions you like. I don’t mean translation….I have one I mind that I enjoy and I am not interested in starting a debate. I mean types of Bibles. I know there are so many types out there right now and I was wondering what kind of Bible you use. I have seen an American Patriot’s Bible, the Apologetics Bible, Chronological Bible, Women’s Study Bible, Life Application Study Bible and so many more. It’s hard to choose! So, what has worked well for you and what hasn’t? I don’t necessarily need a big fancy one with tons of extras but I am looking for maybe a relevant study Bible. I have many Bibles at home from which we use for school and such but I need a new personal study Bible. Any suggestions?
I have many Bibles – of all types, I really love The American Patriot’s Bible, and I like my Life Application and The Narrated Bible plus The Holman Illustrated Study Bible. I find I get something out of all of them and I use these differently to my main Bible. I enjoy learning from them all – favorites would be the Holman Illustrated and The Patriors one. The illustrated I like because I am quite visual and it has many good maps and illustrations, historical settings and literary features. Linda
I love my Zodhiates’ Hebrew/Greek study Bible. It has the Hebrew and Greek numbers listed for the main words along with the Hebrew and Greek dictionaries in the back.
I have truly enjoyed The Spirit of the Reformation Study Bible. In the introduction to each old testament book it shows you how Jesus is revealed in each book. It also has wonderful study notes.
