We’re doing module 1 this year, and my boys have loved Pyramid by David Macaulay and Boy of the Pyramids.
One day last week, my two ds (4 and 6 years old) were marching importantly around with scrolls of paper, stopping occasionally to work on plans for their pyramids, including how many slaves/workmen it would take to complete them. It was great fun, and I was delighted to see them incorporating their learning into their play.
A little while later, my elder son, while working intently on his plans, exclaimed, “Bummer!” I asked what was the matter, and he replied,”My pyramid’s so big, there aren’t enough workers in all of Egypt to build it!”
