I really miss seeing you ladies around here! Your absence has left a hole in this community. I would love to know how each of you and your families are doing. 🙂
I’ll add to your bump! Even if Christie (misseegee) and Bookworm are not in a position to participate in the forum regularly, I will add to this post in saying we miss you both, Christie and Bookworm, and we thank you for all the valuable contributions you’ve made over the years. I don’t post often but have been a regular reader for 5 years and have learned so much from this forum – and from the wise advice of Bookworm and misseegee. Thanks again!
Hi everyone. It’s been a busy season of life. With four kids to homeschool, one in high school now, the co-op I lead, and then my dad’s failing health, move to Florida, death, burial back in SC, being executor of his estate and that hassle, it’s just been a lot.
I did go to the CM Retreat in Ambleside, England in March and while I skipped all of the sessions since my mind wasn’t in a place to absorb it all, my husband and I greatly enjoyed hiking the Lake District and then time in Oxford and London. We made it an anniversary trip. It was lovely.
I love the SCM forum and will perhaps become active again at some point. Right now, I’m simply trudging through the rest of this year’s work and trying to reclaim parts of me that have nothing to do with homeschooling. I need a bit of balance as it feels my identity has become nothing but homeschool mom, co-op leader, cm aficionado. I miss having other interests like scuba diving and scrapbooking and reading simply for my own pleasure. I’m remedying that. I’m still homeschooling, but I’m rediscovering me, too.
Thanks for asking about me and I’ll plan to peek in here more when I can.
It’s so good to hear from you Christie. It sounds like you’ve had a lot on your plate.
I, too, need to remember that I am more than simply a homeschooler, a mother, and a wife. I am a person and I need to rediscover some of my lost hobbies and pleasures as well.
May God bless you and your family during this difficult season and always.
