Can anyone recommend drawing books they have used for birds? My daughter is very interested in learning to draw the birds we see in our back yard.

    She is elementary age.

Not specifically birds, but Nature Friend magazine has a “You Can Draw” section every month.

Check this site to see some back issues:

My kids love to use that magazine to learn to sketch.

We really appreciate the “you can draw” sections of Nature Friend in our home, too. They often have birds as their subjects.

While not a drawing book about birds, the free coloring pages from the Cornell Lab of Orinthology education department could be a great help as your daughter gets started drawing them.

She could use the accurate and simple line drawings (of almost 50 birds) to trace over or to copy from when she draws her own birds.

We have checked out Drawing Birds with Colored Pencils from the library many times.
