Can someone direct me to very exciting books for boys (ages 10, 11 and 15). These will be audible books that they listen to for the purpose of helping their auditory processing. So actually, can be for much younger than their current ages. The current books series my husband is reading out loud has a lot of new age themes in it, so nothing like that. Anything that I could trust them to listen to that I have not listened to.
Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder has excellent narration by Cherry Jones, along with supplemental fiddle music of that time period. The stories are very descriptive. Our whole family has enjoyed them and my son recommends them. They are not just for girls. I think “pa” is a great role model with good work ethics and morals.
We have also enjoyed the audio dramatizations from Your Story Hour.
Fave of all time, especially for boys, but my girls and i love it, too, is Ralph Moody’s Little Britches series narrated by Cameron Beierle. The first one or two books have a couple of coarse cowboy words, but these top my never miss list. We also enjoyed the Sugar Creek Gang books on audio, but they’re for a bit younger ages than your oldest.
