Went to the bookfinder and was going to look up SCM module 1 for history. And there is no tab for it, there is for all the other modules but not number 1. There is a plain SCM history one but I think it has all the titles to all the modules in it.
Also when people have entered other titles on their own how do you find the ones that would go with each module. Related to the module you are studying?
Unfortunately, the tags list only shows the top 40 tags by the number of resources that tag was used on. History module 1 has fewer resources than some of the others so it got sorted off the list. Here is a direct link you can use to see all of the history module 1 resources:
We’re working on some ways to make it easier to find tags. For example, we’ll be linking directly to them from the curriculum guide and we’ll probably come up with a way to make it easier to browse more than the top 40 tags.
In the mean time, here are some other ways you can find these resources
if you can find one resource in the Bookfinder with a particular tag then you can click that tag to see all the others. For example, you could search for our book Genesis through Deuteronomy & Ancient Egypt because it’s used in module 1. That book’s page would include a clickable tag link that would then show you all of the history module 1 resources.
You can do a search in the Bookfinder for something like “history module 1” or “scm history module 1”. You have to put it in quotes so it will find the whole phrase and not just the individual words, though.
You can make your own URL (web address) to get to what you want. For example, look at the link to module 1 I pasted above. See how the end part is “scm-history-module-1”? That’s just the tag in lower-case letters and dashes instead of spaces.
Regarding finding resources that others have tagged, it depends on what tags they have used. It might be common for someone to tag a book as “history” and you would find that if you did a search in the Bookfinder. However, if someone tagged a resource with a term you would not think of searching then you might not find it unless the person who tagged it let you know what tag she used.
Tags are completely flexible that way, but if some of you get together here on the forum and agree to tag resources with certain words then the whole community can find them. For example, let’s say you all want to tag the books Ambleside recommends with tags similar to what we’ve used for our curriculum guide. Those who are interested can work together to decide on the tags you will use and on tagging those resources. We see this forum as a great way to collaborate on projects like that and publicize the results for the benefit of everyone.
