I am having a doozie of a time trying to find some generic book templates. I want to lulu some of my favorite books in a large enough font, and spiral bound, to make for easy copywork directly from the book. The books I want to use are public domain. My problem is that if I am going to go through the trouble of publishing it, I may as well do it right and I just can’t seem to find a template that works.
I’m not sure exactly what I am looking for . Could you suggest software that would include templates–or at least software that would make formatting a book easier? I want to publish Henty and George MacDonald novels in large print and in a larger, spiral bound book that would lay flat for easier copywork. It is for my own personal use, but I thought I may as well “do it right the first time” if I’m going to go through all the trouble…
We use Adobe InDesign for our SCM books but that’s probably high-end overkill for what you’re doing.
I’d start with the software you have and search for something that works with it. For example, if you have Microsoft Word, you could do a google search for “Microsoft Word book template” or “MS Word book template”. I just tried that and several possibilities were listed.
