Wondered if anyone has read any books that has helped in implementing a Charlotte Mason style of education in their homeschool (other than her original writings of course!)
I can’t say enough good things about the All-Day Charlotte Mason Seminar on DVD. I hesitated for several weeks on whether to spend the money or not on the collection. It is worth every, single penny and more. I don’t want to gush too much, but it’s an amazing resource!
The Charlotte Mason companion by Karen Andreola is also very good. I am reading it now and am quite enjoying it. IMHO, if you had never heard of Charlotte Mason before in your life and this was the only book you read, you would be able to educate your child with the CM method. She goes through pretty much everything and also gives examples so you know what certain things should look like when you implement them. I think it was very well done.
“The Charlotte Mason companion by Karen Andreola is also very good.” Linabean……I AGREE! I’m also currently reading this book and also have the collection of Charlotte’s original writings and I would suggest the companion.
All the resources on this site are wonderful. I also have read The Charlotte Mason Companion and enjoyed it very much. Additionally, Catherine Levison has two books–A Charlotte Mason Education and More Charlotte Mason Educatioin–that are short and easy to read. I think I read the first one in an afternoon. They are very basic and give great overviews of the CM Method.
