    Hi everyone,

The Keepers of the Faith group I lead is reading three books this year and having “book club” meetings for them. I would love some suggestions on one of the books. They’re all 7 and 8 year old girls. We started with The Hundred Dresses which went well, but I’d like our next book to be more specifically pointing the girls to God and biblical character principles. We’ve already chosen a Lamplighters book for our last book, but the cost of those books is prohibiting me from assigning a second one. I would like to find something that has the strength of the Lamplighters books but that I can find simply at Amazon or Chapters. Any suggestions?

    Thank you kindly!

Fave, fave book…Mountain Born.  We also loved the Grandmother’s Attic books, Rosalie’s Good Shephard and Charlie’s Choice from Queen homeschool, and some books from Keepers website directly like My Mother’s Bible and a book about a chicken…the title escapes me!

I think all girls should read Understood Betsy by Dorothy Canfield Fisher 🙂

Oops…the titles are The Testimony of Charlie Coulson (may be a little old for them; haven’t read that in a while), and Bernie’s White Chicken.

I have a number of books from Grace & Truth Books that focus on character building and resisting temptation. Here are the titles I have. Only the first three have been read so far, and they are very good stories. You can buy them as a set.

The Weed With the Ill Name

A Little Rebel Becomes a Saint

    The Reward of Childhood Truth

    Theobold the Iron-Hearted

    Roses and Thorns

    The Bible In the Wall

    Tampering With Temptation

    The Little Medicine Carrier

    Wandering May

    Godliness is Great Gain

Little Daisy and the Swearing Class

Thanks everyone! I think we’ve settled on In Grandma’s Attic, but have definitely added many books onto my personal list now!

    Thanks again!
