    Hi, Sonya:

I was just looking at a past thread about creating the Book of Centuries, and there was a link to an example page on the site that also had a photo of a two-page spread.  Unfortunately, the photo is just a little bit too small for me to see what you have written on the pages.  I see black or blue writing on the left of a page and red writing on the right-hand side of a page, but I can’t quite make out what it says.  I’m just rather visual, so I think fully undertanding the picture would be helpful.

This is the link to the page with the photo: http://simplycharlottemason.com/timesavers/book-of-centuries/how-to-use-a-book-of-centuries/

Please excuse any typos in this post….we’ve all been very sick the past few days, and I’m having trouble typing!  How annoying–we’ve been having very light school days, and I can’t even enjoy the time off! Tongue out

    Thanks,

    Sue

Have you tried using the zoom on your browser to make the picture bigger?  It is generally under something like “tools” – then Zoom

Here is a different take on a book of centuries:

@suzukimom, I really liked this article.  Do you print your own with five columns?  I’m such a paper geek & I’m trying to figure out how I’ll put one together or what to use.

    Thanks,

    Richele

Hi Richele…    My kids aren’t old enough to do the Book of Centuries yet, so I haven’t decided how to do it.  The author I think said she was working on a ready-made version… I think I saw it mentioned as done in the comments – you have to email her to get it I think?

What I’ve been hoping to find is a nice notebook with lined paper on the rhs, and blank on the lhs…. but I haven’t noticed one.  I thought I could use the lined paper to have the rows and I’d draw in the columns…. and then the left hand side would be for the drawings.    Not sure what I’m going to do… but I love the idea!

@sue_mom23, Below the photo it describes what is on those pages, just not the exact words. Thanks for the suggestion of a readable example. I just added a larger image so if you click on the picture it will zoom up to a larger view.

Thanks, Doug–I can tell exactly what’s there now!  (Of course, if I had read more carefully, I would have understood well enough without the enlarged photo….)

Like I said, chalk it up to being sick for several days…..the nasty virus kind of being sick, where you feel like you’ve been hit by a truck, then the ambulance that was taking you to the hospital got hit by a taco truck, then you have to lie there miserably watching the paramedics eating tacos from the truck that hit you while waiting for the back-up ambulance to arrive…..Cry

Can’t be too terribly sick if I’ve still got my sense of humor!

    Sue
