    Do any of you know how close to the actual book the dramatizations of Anne of Green Gables or The Secret Garden or other books dramatized by Focus on the Family are?

    I’m thinking ahead to Christmas!

    We’ve found them fairly close. The main “abridging” we notice is that, due to the fact that they are like plays, some description gets turned into dialogue. The spirit of the story stays the same. We wouldn’t listen and count it as reading the book, but we really do enjoy them as entertainment, like a well chosen movie but one that gives us the opportunity to still picture the characters ourselves.

    My dd12 has listened to all of them and enjoyed them. She usually dislikes anything that strays too far from the books.
