What are your thoughts on the Bob Books, the the boxes? For those who have used them pros? Cons? End results?

We loved them. I had 3 of 4 kids who had speech problems and didn’t pick up reading readily. I loved that these books were short and yet told a story. And it is hard to find early readers that only use words the kids know without mixing in harder ones.

DD loved them. They were phonetic so she could sound out all the words and she could read a whole little book by herself.
DS does not like them. He thinks they are boring and not a real story. He prefers Playful Pals by Nora Gaydos.
See if you can get them from your library. Then you can try for free. 🙂

I just was curious other’s feelings on the bob books. I didn’t want to waste my time if most people thought they were of no help.
I found both Bob, (which we have and are trying) and I just looked up the Nora Gaydos and found those also! WOW I love love love interlibraray loans! Will check those out also

If you’re not sure if you’ll like them, you can check them out for free on amazon.com if you are an amazon prime member. They work great on a kindle and are in full color. If you dont have a kindle, just download the free kindle app on to your computer or tablet of choice.
