My son will turn 10 on Friday. He will be having his first “friend” party. Up until today, the weather forecast has been calling for beautiful weather. Now they are calling for possible rain. Please give me activities to keep twelve 10yo boys occupied for three hours either inside or on my porch! My son thought about a Twister tournament. The bowling alley in town has closed or I would just move it there. Suggestions needed and welcome!
Do you have a fireplace or grill they could cook hot dogs and roast marshmallows for themselves?
We had a game party once that was a lot of fun. I had stations set up all over the house with UNO, Monopoly, Guess Who?, Dominoes, and SkipBo that kids could rotate and play with whomever they chose.
You could ask your local club with an indoor pool if you could rent the space out for a couple of hours.
Do you live near a skating rink? Have a dollar movie?
Throw sleeping bags and pillows in the floors, pop popcorn, and watch an adventure movie.
Bake cupcakes ahead of time and let them decorate their own.
Thanks all. The board/card games are probably the better bet, although my active boys and their friends may not be as thrilled. We have a very old video game system that they are allowed to play for 30 minutes a week. Some of the boys don’t have those or TV at all so I doubt that would be an option. We live on a farm in a very small town so there’s not a lot of indoor options here. If there are no storms, I don’t mind at all if they’re outside. We had just made all these wonderful outdoor plans because of the beautiful weather supposedly coming so now we’re scrambling at the last minute. 🙂
Thanks again…
