    for highschool science?  Thanks

We used it in middle school along with the questions booklet – my daughters liked it, but personally I did not think it was meaty enough for a high school credit, especially if the child was going on to college.  We also did not use Apologia, because that was far more than my daughters wanted.  We used Christian Liberty Press Biology, it is not as difficult as Apologia, but we thought much better than Biology 101.  My daughters who are college bound (maybe) did really well on the course, and enjoyed it – they found Apologia way more than they wanted.  Perhaps others feel differently, however we did enjoy the DVD very much.  Linda

Linda, than you so much, i’m considering the CLP Biology.

Both my daughters really enjoyed the CLP – it is quality and interesting and there is a lab book and teacher guide if you want it.  I think it was the very best fit for my daughters, who like science, but don’t want science to be their major in college.  They did Apologia Physical Science and found it way too much for their interest, and knew the Bio would be much worse – so they recommend CLP to you if that is your situation as well.  Good luck – blessings, Linda

I’m glad you brought this question up, Des. We’ve been looking at Biology 101 also.

Linda, do you think this would be a nice supplement?

Also, in checking out CLP Biology, I noticed they labeled it for 10th. Would it be feasable with a 9th grader? We’ve gone back and forth with whether or not to continue with Apologia as their Biology is recommended for 9th but seems a bit much. Thanks & Blessings! ~ Heather

Hi Healther, I think it would make a fine supplement if you have the funds – the DVD is beautifully done, I just did not like it as a complete bio course.  The guy on the DVD is really interesting and it gave my daughters an interest in biology.  They then looked at an Apologia Bio that a friend had, and decided it was more involved than they wanted and was better for someone really into science, and then we saw a copy of CLP Biology, and they chose that one.  So if you have access to the DVD or can buy it, I would without hesitation.  Even younger children would like it and learn I think.

Oops sorry Heather, I missed out the bit about age, I think a 9th grader could do CLP and would enjoy it – Apologia is great but too much for quite a few students who are not planning on making science an important part of their future plans.  I think you parents know if it would be too much.  CLP have great products and we have always liked what we have chosen from them – so I would say, you would have no trouble with a 9th grader.
