I am looking for a “meaty” bible study for my 15 yr old dd. I am open to either something we can do together or something she might do on her own. I am just hoping to find something that has some depth to it, is thought provoking, requires a little digging in the word, and hopefully ignites a passion for Christ and His word. Is this too much to hope for? Any thoughts? What have you all used with your high school students that stretched them a little?
I recommend one of the studies from SCM. They are wonderful! A friend of mine is using one of them with a group of grown women and they are so impressed! Some of the women have been studying the Bible for years and say that they have never gone this in depth. They are using Life in the Word. My daughter is using the Hebrews study and the Doctrine notebook right now. I am really looking forward to working our way through all of them.
We are using some character study/Bible study from Character Concepts, for the lower grades. But they have some books for the upper grades you might check out, although I have not used those yet. They use KJV and the student looks up the verses in their Bible and answers questions. There are samples on their website. See levels 6 – 8.
