I am thinking about using the Organizer for our next academic year. We school from September through May, but I do a lot of planning during the summer and we also use the summer to finish up a few odds and ends.

I’m wondering when would be the best time to start the free trial for the Organizer so I can really see if it’s what I really want to use. Since it’s a two-week trial (I think that’s what it is, right?) and we’re just a few weeks from finishing up this year’s work, I suppose I don’t want to go to all of the trouble to start it actively right now. However, would I be likely to get a fair idea of how it’s going to work if I just use it during the planning stage, or should I wait until just before school starts in the fall to see how it works in reality?

Those of you who have used the Organizer, what are your thoughts?

I would start it when you are ready to make out your plan for next year.  One of my favorite things about the SCMO is that I can place resources in it that I plan to use all year.  I love having all the major stuff planned out so I don’t have to write weekly lesson plans.  As the year goes on I add to the Organizer whatever we decide to supplement with like Books, games, field trips, etc.  SCM team is pretty helpful when you are deciding whether it is right for you.  I know I’ve seen on other post that they will save whatever you add to the Organizer for a while.

As NJcountrygal noted, we do save all schedules and data for at least a year after a trial expires or an account is canceled.
