You were all so helpful with the guitar/vioin discussion, I wanted to ask if any of you guitar folks have a recommendation for a book, book series, or website for some kind of sequential guitar lessons? My dh can oversee our dd and check up on her but something that she can follow and feel that ownership on her own would be great.
We pulled out her sister’s old guitar for her today and my dh tuned it up and showed her a couple of things — she went on to play for 1.5 hours…she was so happy!
Hey, picked my 17yo’s brain. He started out last year in electric guitar but bought an acoustic this summer. He says a lot depends on what she wants to do. He has no idea at all about classical guitar, as that never interested him. He has one very good general website with lessons, which happen to be free, and he also has a youtube channel.
I have been thinking about trying this myself for a long time! Make sure you watch the sample lesson, and especially the “music video” portion of it. Looks so great! I really need to start this myself… Playing guitar has always been a dream of mine and these online lessons look wonderful. There is a small monthly fee but I think it is very, very reasonable.
