I need a program to fit all three of my dc, especially my oldest two. My oldest is familiar with it already (and uses it when writing at times) but it would be brand new for my 9yo.

I’m thinking workbook style would be best; computer based programs seem to get forgotten in this household.

I’ve looked at Memoria Press’s New American Cursive, which looks promising, but still not sure.

    Any suggestions??

We use this: https://www.zeezok.com/presidential-penmanship and love it.  It’s a download, but then I just print it all off, put it in a binder and tah da.  It’s a workbook.  Lol.  We use the one with Abraham Lincoln on the cover.  3rd grade and up have cursive.  It doesn’t teach how to form the letters, but it has to sections where you trace the sections, before trying it on your own.  It’s worked well for us.

I like, for learning it, Classical Cursive Bk. 1 from Veritas Press; it’s a D’Nealian Style. Then for practice and reinforcement the Zeezok Presidential Penmanship mentioned above. Both of mine have done well so far and have picked it up easily.

We like the PDF downloads from light Home Publications available at currclick for copy work. For instruction, I prefer Cursive First or Pencil Pete. I like for all of the lowercase letters to start on the baseline including a, c, etc. this is usually called modern or contemporary cursive and is the same as D’nealian cursive.

We are using New American Cursive, and have really liked it. We’re going a slow pace, and my 6yo son really enjoys it!

Another vote for New American Cursive here. I am using it with my 6yo at her request and she enjoys it (and I enjoy that everything is laid out for me.) I got it with the Startwrite software that uses the NAC font so I can make copywork sheeets using that font once we finish working through all the worksheets. We are also taking it pretty slow and usually only do 1 or 2 lines each day, usually not the full page at once. I also alternate with my daughter so we take turns writing each letter. (I trace and write an I, and then she does it and so on.)

We like Pictures in Cursive by Queen Homeschool.  Our 2nd grader loves it and can’t get enough.  She is basically self taught in this area.  🙂  Blessings, Melissa

We’ve loved Queen also as well as Cheerful Cursive, which is a sweet, thoughtful book with short lessons full of beautiful relevant scripture and catchy ways to remember the strokes.
