Has anyone ever used any of the Beautiful Feet study guides? I always look at them and I know they use living books, but how are the guides? Do they incorporate bible? Any thoughts?
Yes it does, and we used them for the Early American History and it was “ok”….not, in my opinion, anywhere near as thorough or enjoyable as SCM’s Module 5 books. There was alot of writing involved, and at the time, my non-writing child was struggling with almost each lesson. Like I said, I am happy we found SCM.
And please keep in mind, this is just how it worked for us, hopefully someone else will chime in with their experiences. I do get excited everytime I look at their geography, though LOL!
My daughter is using the horse study guide. Yes, it does incorporate some Bible – mainly in terms of memory verses. Every day/lesson there are 3-4 assignments which are usually from the following list: read pages xx, narrate based on questions that they asked, do research on xxx, memorize Bible verse, copy something into your notebook (map, drawing of horse), write definitions in glossary.
I would also rate it as “ok” but that is just my opinion. We don’t do alot of the writing but I have her narrate it orally.
We are using it this year in the early grades for Early American History and absolutely love it! It is our favorite part of the day. Of course, I have no experience yet with the SCM modules. I am considering them for next year.
