I love Lime Ricki’s one pieces and $60 is really a good price for the quality and I am over-the-moon about the UV protection (I have Lupus so that little fabric feature is a blessing to me). They last for years and the Lucille Ball retro feel is fun on our vacation-y/resort-ish New England beaches. 🙂
LL Bean (I’m a Mainer, lol) also has some darling options, though the prices are also up there.

Just had to throw in that I LOVE Lime Ricki’s suits, too! They usually have a sale around Memorial day and maybe at other times as well…I think it’s usually around 40% off. Their “ruffle wrap skirt” is very cute, and comes down a lot longer than most swim skirts I’ve had before. Very cute and classy. And, Lindsey is right, they do last a long time. One of my suits is on it’s 3rd summer and it’s still holding up great! So glad you mentioned Lime Ricki, erin.kate and Lindsey!

I got one from Meant to be Modest, and I am very comfortable in that. It is made to fit, so I was excited to have something that fit me well. Either the leggings or dress need to be to the knees. I chose the leggings to the knees and got the dress several inches shorter. That cuts back on a lot of loose fabric in the water.

I haven’t read all of the replies in this post, but wanted to mention our solution to the swimsuit issue. Two years ago, my dad bought my girls matching dresses from Wal-Mart. They are polyester and spandex and feel a lot like swimsuit material. They are shorter than the dresses our girls usually wear; about knee length, with empire waists and ties in back. We thought,”shoot, those look like swim dresses!” so we put leggings, the kind that go just past the knee, with them and voila! Swim dreeses! They’ve worn them for 2 years at various pools and water parks and they’ve worked great. I would imagine the key is making sure the material isn’t too heavy nor the cut too full; you don’t want to be dragged down or have too much material to contend with. We’ve never had either problem. Hope that’s helpful.
