Karen, I know the price of Lime Ricki’s suits seems high, but they are worth it because you’re getting quality. I have bought Target and Walmart swim wear in the past, and they barely make it to the end of one swim season. Actually, the last Walmart suit I had started getting threadbare in the rear end after just three months of wear! Luckily, it was a swim skirt and the threadbare part was covered by the skirt, but still… Not lasting quality. The suit I purchased from Lime Ricki in 2010 still looks brand new. I wore it to the pool last week! I don’t remember exactly what I paid for it, but it was in the range of $60-$70. If I have to buy a new $30 Target suit every year, then I end up spending $90 for the same three years. So u really save money by investing in quality from the beginning. My Lime Ricki suits will probably last me another 3-4 years, assuming I don’t get bored with them and replace them just because I want a change (which is likely because that’s just me). Just thought it might help to see the perspective of spending a little more and how it can save money in the long run.
erin.kate, glad to see another Lime Ricki fan! I was beginning to think I was crazy for being the only one!
ETA: I found an old blog post with a pic of the swim top I purchased in 2010. It’s here: http://todayindietzville.blogspot.com/2010/05/about-that-time-part-deaux.html?m=0
And I bought the black swim skirt to go with it. What I love about the skirt is that it has adjustable rouching (sp?) and drawstrings to make it longer or shorter. I don’t think they make this style anymore, but I’m glad I have it. My other Lime Ricki top has black in it, so I can mix and match.
