I ordered this computer game and when I went to play it the version is so old it doesn’t work on my computer. Even though it says Mac compatible it’s not for use on newer Macs. Does anyone know of a newever version computer game like this that would work on newer Macs? This is for a just learning to read student.
Unfortunately, there’s just nothing out there as nice as the original Edmark software. That was really something special about the way they did things that I haven’t seen since.
When Edmark was sold most of the development on the titles stopped. A few of the titles have been repackaged into school versions and some have been unfortunately modified with twaddly features that don’t fit in with the original vision. We think it’s worth keeping an old Mac around just to run these gems.
I totally agree with Doug. I also loved the old original Learning Company software, but the newer stuff is so twaddly and silly we didn’t even bother. Same thing with Carmen Sandiego. My older kids remembered it being so cool, they bought a newer version for their younger siblings and it is awful:( Where has all the educational development gone? Is there any software out there that is educational and interesting, or is it all just edutainment now??
