Wow I didn’t know so many people attended home churches, my dream! I find in churches of 500 or more it’s hard to be closer in fellowship with others, they seem to get “clicky” fast though I’m sure any would come to our home to eat dinner with us, but we probably wouldn’t get asked into their’s though I know it’s not point…

I found when I went to churches with fewer in number we became like a family.

I love when we stay home Sunday nights to rest on our one day as a family to rest together from all our work. But our church reminds those who are at church each time the door opens those are more faithful. Makes me feel guilty. But then I remember are we really *resting* on Sunday if we have to rush out our family of 5 a few hrs after the morning service? We can worship at home too. 🙂

Sorry I’m of no help, but wanted to add I’m *jealous* too.

Just in case any families here are in our local area and want to gather together for a sweet time of friendship and fellowship, we are in the San Antonio, TX area.

Heather, tea sounds lovely! And you are absolutely right about homechurches having their own set of problems, no system is perfect no matter how “organic” it may be 🙂

Your right no system is perfect…but there are some that seem to have more advantages. 😆

I would love to be in a fellowship of believers where there is more like-mindedness..not just in homeschooling and courtship but in lots of other areas too. Thankfully God is doing a great and mighty work in our current church. But my heart yearns for a small fellowship of believers that also share the same convictions (or close to them) that God has led us to.

Thank you Rachel for your wonderful commentary above. I know that God is working and it will be exciting to see the fruit of His Spirit in the American church in the coming years…no matter how scary the future may be, it will all be for His glory and our sanctification. To God be the Glory.

If anyone is chatting over tea..I am inviting myself along too. 🙂

You do realize that I live in KY and KY is the halfway point between TX and Michigan (sort of)…so we could all meet for tea somewhere in KY or TN. 🙂

Rachel, you just put words to what I’ve been feeling for a very long time!! I agree with the others…B-E-A-utiful!!! Thanks.

I couldn’t agree more, Tara. Truly resting on Sunday…what an original idea!!

Tea sounds great to me, too. We’re in the half-way point (TN), as Shelly called it. 🙂

Hello to all. The question of finding a really great fellowship is indeed a difficult one. Many years ago my discouragement and desire for really loving sincere believers led our family to the group in indianapolis that csmamma posted links regarding. It ended up being spiritually, emotionally, and mentally detrimental. Of course you will have to judge for yourselves, but it won’t hurt to be cautious and learn the dangers and pitfalls of those who believe they have something superior to all else.

There is another wonderful site in which you can download for FREE for the Kingdom some books and information that I believe will truly be a blessing. http://www.freedomsring.org/

And this online book is written by a man who has since gone to be with Jesus and is from the same belief from which the man behind allathisfeet began his preaching. http://www.mun.ca/rels/restmov/texts/wcketcherside/tts/index.html

May the Lord lead and guide and protect you.
