I know some of you live in Atlanta, or have visited.  We are looking at visiting in November and have kids ages 9, 7, 4 and 2.  What places do you recommend for a family w/ kids of those ages?  What have you visited and loved?  Any ideas welcomed!

We really loved the aquarium. It was quite impressive and very kid-friendly. However, the Coke museum next door could easily be skipped. Just not really worth the price at all… unless you are a fan and want to try all the different kinds of Coke at the end of the tour. We enjoyed going to Olympic Park as well. Hope you have a fantastic time.

Children’s Museum is fun for the under 10 crowd!! If your travel time is flexible, they do a free afternoon one Tuesday a month. Check out their website and see. Basically, you just get there early, stand in line, and try to be the first 50 in (or something like that.) We’ve done it before, and it was really great. Everything is pricey, at least for us, with 8 kids, so we like FREE! THe Coke museum is okay, but really not worth the price.

The zoo is okay, not as great as some other zoos, but not bad. It will be even better in November, because the weather will be cool.  Centennial park has some really cool playgrounds, and its right across from the CocaCola museum and the Aquarium. Again, the playgrounds are FREE! 🙂 The Varsity is a hot dog/hamburger joint that is famous and is really a must-visit. Its the whole experience, not just the food. Its right there downtown, lots of people and lots of fun. 🙂

Moving a little away from Atlanta proper, there is the Mall of Georgia, which is a neat place to stroll around with the kids. There’s a carousel in the food court, next to the Cinnabon. 😉 Love that! Another mall is Discover Mills, which has a Bass Pro shop, that my boys love. There’s also a Lego store where they can play a bit. Can you tell, we just like to stroll around free areas?? 🙂 Personally, I love IKEA, and my kids don’t mind it too bad, but its probably more for MOM than for kiddos.

I live in GA! One of our favorite places to visit is Stone Mountain Park! We used to have annual passes when our boys were small. I truly think it is one of the best places to visit! And at the end of the day (only on Saturdays during the fall) you get to enjoy a wonderful Laser show w/ fireworks!

We just got back from a homeschool day this past Friday. We stayed over till Sat. 2 hotels on site and great camping. There are plenty of nature trails, picnic areas, and lots of fun for kids. Right now until the end of October is the Pumpkin Festival. In November the Christmas fun begins! Love it!

We love the zoo, aquarium, Fernbank Science Museum as well. Go to http://www.citypass.com to get a great deal on multiple sites, if you plan on staying for a while! We used this last year!

    Have fun!

We were there in August and did the Varsity (a must), the Botanical Gardens (amazingly worth it) and intened to do the High Museum of Art but didn’t have time.  All well worth it in our book.  We only had a day and we’ve done the Aquarium before a few times so we wanted something different.

We enjoyed the MLK Jr museum / outdoor grounds. I still hear my kids talk about being in the house where he was born. It had an impact as it was 3 years ago when we visited.
