I am planning on an art study this year, but I would like it to revolve around module 3 Rome. Any suggestions? This is ojr first time trying art study!

    Thanks

I made this a while ago but if you want your artist to follow the history this should help

My one caution would be tying all artists/composers to your history period all the time. The reason being that artists from the same time period are often the same style and it can be more difficult to distinguish one’s work from another. If you keep a BOC (highly recommended), then the children will get a sense of who was when, etc. The kids will make their own connections. Another consideration is that each of us prefers certain styles and spending a year in a style that isn’t a favorite could be discouraging to many. However, by switching each term to different time periods, the variety is refreshing IMO. For example, next year we will study two terms with our CM co-op artists Benjamin West and Vincent Van Gogh and composers George Frideric Handel and Louis Armstrong/Duke Ellington. Just a different point of view to consider. I’d also recommend the SCM resource, The Stuff They Left Behind Rome to add to your study.

    Best wishes on your studies!

Kayla, while I wouldn’t tie all of my artists to history, I love your worksheet as a reference. It’s just as useful for someone like me as it would be for someone looking to tie it all together! Thank you for sharing.

It is just a reference for me. We are defiantly switching styles each time so it isn’t confusing. Thanks
