I already ordered 3 things, and it asked what country I lived in.  I’d bet that they would send to Cananda.  You just pay return shipping, via media mail.  They don’t ask for any security or anything.  Wow.

I ordered the Ancient Art DVD that is about Ancient Eygpt and Greece art.  I also ordered a DVD on Audubon’s life and his works, and a packet on toys.  That one was just for fun =)

Thank you for this link.  They let you choose the catagory from art, language arts, history, etc.  What a fun way to add a special day to school.

So, I got the DVDs I ordered.  On the website it asked for my address and the dates I wanted them.  That was it.  They came on time and one was in a locking plastic case, the other in a padded envelope.  The mailing label has the return date on it and asks that you record how many times it was watched and how many people watched it.  It will cost me $2.82 in postage per dvd to return these.

Ok, I have to admit that I LOVE them.  I am finding new favorite artists. =)  We are watching the one from the NGA Art & Artists Series called “American Art”.  It has seven artists on it with a documentary style commentary of the artist’s life, studies, and art.  They are in individual segments, none of which are longer than 29 minutes.  So far we have watched the John James Aududon three 3 times, and I could use that to teach geography, art appreciation, science, and history.  I watched the one on William Merritt Chase at Shinnecock.  I have found a new favorite.  And again, I could teach all those subjects and more without batting an eye.  I am excited to watch more and I am going to find prints for picture study…and they have some of his prints in the St. Louis Art Museum, so I am planning another field trip.  (The museum is fabulous and FREE!)

I have to admit that I have never heard of most of these artists, so I am really enjoying the DVDs.  (It includes Audubon, Chase, Church, Homer, Moran, Peto, and Whistler.)  The other one I got was about Ancient Egyptian and Grek Art, which ties in nicely with our Module studies.  I haven’t watched that one yet, but I am excited to see that one too.

I just wanted to share more details so that someone might feel more confident in using this resource.  =)
