I was at our local used bookstore and picked up two books I haven’t heard of, but had a good feeling about them.  Can you tell me if these books are any good? Hitty:Her First Hundred Years by Rachel Field Brinker or The Silver a Skates by Mary Mapes Dodge What Katy Did by Susan Coolidge   thanks!

The first two are wonderful books! They can also be hard to find so congrats! ? It seems like I’ve heard of the third book you mentioned but I haven’t read it myself.

We are just finishing up the book What Katy Did.  We REALLY liked it!  A LOT!  Great fun and great lessons,  good family life.  It has sad parts (death and injury) but they are shown to be overcome or are dealt with in a gentle and mature manner in my opinion.  I am very glad I picked it out.

You found some treasures.  Hitty is one of my favorites ever.

Thanks, ladies. I’m so glad I picked these treasures up. I got a hardback version of Hans Brinker for 25 cents and hardback of Hettie in great condition for $4!
