Just opened the ones I could on Amazon. Here is my vote, for what it is worth:

    1. Keeper (marginal, but some good word usage so I vote keep it)

    2. Twaddle

    3. Twaddle

    4. Couldn’t Open

    5. Twaddle

    6. Twaddle

    7. Twaddle

Ouch! I know these are just early, picture books, but if you are going by Charlotte’s standards I think we would have to define them as twaddle, mostly. Think of the difference between these books and something like Velveteen Rabbit, or the James Herriot for children. They are simplified and watered down to ‘dummy’ them up for children. Not what Charlotte would recommend.

Of course, they are your books and if you like them ignore this :0)! I know we have a few of these laying around the house, as well. But I have to honestly say that they don’t get read more than once. They just aren’t that interesting to read again and again, and that is a pretty good ‘tell’ to me.

We have 2 of the “How Do Dinosaurs…” books.  I agree they’re twaddle.  I just can’t bring myself to get rid of them quite yet…  Not sure why, since really they never look at them.  Maybe because they still are so “new?”  Well, OK, they only *look* new because they never read them….  Hmmmm….

IMO, I’d classify all of those as twaddle. They wouldn’t be keepers for us. Servingwithjoy’s explanation would be mine as well.

We have had a couple of the dinosaur books and while sort of cute once, they weren’t read again and got passed on.
