Are Enid Blyton books twaddle?

    Hello, can you tell me please whether Charlotte would have recommended the reading of the Enid Blyton books to chidlren? Would they have been classified as twaddle or inappropriate? I am specifically referring to the magic and fantasy aspect of the books. Thanks so much, Anna

    I enjoyed reading Enid Blyton when I was growing up. I would not say they are great literature, but I found them fun. As far as the magic and fantasy, I don’t take issue with things such as fairies, but some families are more strict about that. In our house they would be fine on occasion as a fun reading.
