Crayola has something that I think was called a “colourpad” – at least that is what we call it. It is a little plastic frame that holds 4 dry-erase markers and a little eraser. The front is clear – see through, and there is a slot on the side where you can slide in a piece of paper. We use it for colouring a lot (slide in a colour page, or a page with a maze – it is great. We don’t use it for worksheets – but it would be great for that.
This interesting post had me adding up the amount spent on resources for our CM curriculum for 1st grade. I will not be doing module 1 yet, but I added up the cost of the resources I plan to use and it was $182 for all subjects. All but 3 books were used and a few things I either already owned or was given. Included in this amount is a $99 math program (used) and 5 classical CDs (also used). I think all I need to add to be set is supplies like markers, paints, folders, paper, nature journal, etc…. I plan to wait for the back to school sales to buy these things.
In addition, I have found some module 1 resources used and have them stored away for when we start the history/geo/bible modules (by 3rd grade). What I spent on module 1 for the Oxford Book, Gen/Duet. guide, Pharoahs of Ancient Egypt, Pyramid, Uncle Josh’s Outline Map was about $40 total. But it has taken me several months of keeping my eye out on this forum, amazon, and our used book store for the books.
