The book doesn’t really go into too much detail. The Chapter titled “Growth and Development” is the last one in the book, and is 20 pages long.
It details that “You started out as one cell. That original cell pinched itself in half and became two cells.” ..etc. There is about a page on dividing cells, followed by two pages about development in the womb (there are four hand-drawn color pictures of different development stages, and one photograph of a small baby). The next page is about development outside the womb, which contains one paragraph about puberty that is very general.
The next three pages cover genetics, chromosomes, mitosis, meiosis. Under meiosis, it states “God designed a system in which the genes from the mother and father mix together.” It goes on to explain this from a cellular standpoint, but doesn’t cross over into the reproductive act. Illustrations are included showing cell division and chromosome pairs, and a DNA model.
After this are three pages discussing twins, recessive genes, Gregor Mendel. Then a page about being created In His Image, a couple of pages about the apemen-cavemen thing, then a couple of pages about why we were created, and growing in wisdom.
