How do you set up a notebook for apologia general science? is it just a relaxed written narration and apropriate diagrams? or do you make tabbed sections for tests, onyour own questions, experiments etc? trying to set it up for my 13 yo to use asap…….thanks for any who respond.
ought to mention – i have not bought the student note book – I am wanting to use a normal blank notebook but not sure how to structure it for him – if at all….
I don’t know how to make a science notebook as well. I understand it in theory but to implement it is different. I am so afraid that I would some how mess my children up that I bought the Gen. Science note book at rainbow resources, it’s cheaper there.
thanks Sarai but buying the notebook is an option for us due to finances – also we are in the uk – so it would take a while to get to us (as well as bumping up the cost considerably) and i’m aiming for him to start this on monday.
I know that Donna Young’s homeschool resource site used to have information about how to put a notebook together for General Science. Check and see if it’s still there and it may be exactly what you are looking for.
With Apologia textbooks, my children write down the vocabulary and answers to the Study Module questions, complete lab reports and the test, and draw any diagrams (like the cell in biology). They also write narrations from the textbooks but mostly from living science books on related topics (2 narrations for science per week). This provides enough notebooking pages for our science. Also, we simply divide our notebooks by module.
