    Hi Gals,

If you had to pick 2 lessons to have your child just read(and narrate) and not do all the experiments, tests, etc., which would they be? Dd (7th) is now doing great w/this and keeping on a schedule of completing a Module every 2 weeks. However, we started off very slow and had a lot of traveling w/sick grandpa’s, so she’s a bit behind in order to finish by the end of the year (want to complete by then). Thanks for any wisdom!  Blessings, Gina

    BTW…she’s completed Modules 1-4.

I will tell you what I did in General Science.  If the child could tell me the concept, explain it to me and knew from the reading what the outcome would be .. we didn’t do the experiements.  Also, being I have 7 children and all with in 2yr of eachother.. if we did do an experiement we ALL did and talked about it, so at least those with in the next 2 maybe (?) 4 yrs doesn’t have to redo it.  I am not suggesting this is what you do, only telling you what we did.  I think if they get it, and if they didn’t (key there – if THEY didn’t) want to do it then we’d move on.

We struggled getting through Module 5 and then actually just kinda glossed over it.  I was busy and didn’t get around to helping them through it and finally just decided to cut my losses and move on.  If I remember correctly I don’t think there were any experiments in Mod. 5, and then Mod 6 was quite easy and short and we finished it up in a week.  hth

Pick any you want.  There are lots of times we just read the experiment and didn’t do them.  Sometimes we will have an open book test and use the test as review questions and move on.

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! I’ll take some of your suggestions.  I’m one that hates to miss anything, but really think it will be o.k.:)  Thanks, Gina
