Anyone want to help me get the AO resources in the bookfinder Tagged?
Proposed format…. “ao 1” (ao for ambleside, then a space, then the year number…)
for optional replacements, I’m proposing “ao 1 opt”. This is for when the ao board has said to use one book, but give a few options if you don’t like it….
So, for in Year 1, The Blue Fairy book is recommended and scheduled – but for families that don’t like it they suggest you could replace it with The Wonder Clock or Hans Christian Anderson Fairy Tales.
Don’t use the “opt” part when there are 2 (or more) choices and none of them a recommended over another…. like Beautiful Stories from Shakespeare, and Tales from Shakespeare.
For rotation items, like composer study, or Shakespeare in Year 4+, I propose using
“ao rotation 2010-11” (with the appropriate years)
If you have to enter any books for this that we don’t have listed publicly yet just let us know and we can make them available to everyone. The easiest way is probably to send us a list of links to the resources you’ve entered through our contact form. You can set the reason for contact to “Other”.
I’m not sure at this point that I’m going to add in the 2 missing from Year 1 though, as the one book was an optional one that we didn’t use, and the other is one that we chose not to use…. so I haven’t had a reason to enter them in. But if I get a chance, I will add them
I do think I’m going to start on Year 2, as we will be doing a lot of that soon.
However, I noticed that when I go to add an ao tag, I’m getting two suggested of “ao 2”, and I can’t see any difference between them…. maybe one has an extra space or something? (and someone has entered a couple of books with an ao2 tag as well.) Are these 2 tags that look the same different or the same?
FYI, We’re looking into the duplicate “ao 2” tag suggestions. They both end up pointing to the same tag so it should work no matter which one you choose. We’ll get it cleaned up, though.
The reason for the two tag suggestions is that one was “ao{space}2” and the other was “ao{space}{space}2”. We cleaned it up and will tweak the software to fix that kind of thing automatically when tags are created.
A lot, though not all, of years 3-6 are tagged. I haven’t entered many resources that weren’t already in the bookfinder, nor have I tagged any math programs.
